Here is a quick guide on how to create and remove an app button on the iPhone start screen.
Launch the Safari browser on Apple's iOS and navigate to our website you want to add to your home screen. Tap on the "Share" button in the browser toolbar - this is the rectangle with an arrow pointing up. This can be seen in the bar at the top of the screen for the iPad and in the bar at the bottom of the screen for the iPhone.
Press the "Add to start page" icon in the "Share" menu:
You will be prompted to name the shortcut before clicking the "Add" button.
Shorten the name to something like "SafePlaceBerlin" or "Motzstraße" or something else that makes clear what the new button is about:
The shortcut is placed on the home screen and can be dragged / placed anywhere, even in App folders - just like a normal App icon.
Other browsers, such as Chrome for iOS / Firefox for iOS, do not offer this feature.
Due to the security limitations in Apple's system, only Apple's own Safari browser is allowed to do this!
To remove a website shortcut from your device's home screen, simply press and remove it like any other app icon (or, on iPhone, hold it down until it wobbles, then click the X).
